Our Pizza On February 18, 1958, Jimmy (Giacomo) Adornetto, age 19, along with the capable assistance of his mother and father, Phillip and Catherine Adornetto, began the operation of Adornetto’s Pizzeria. Starting in a small building on North Maple Avenue the Pizza Shop was only the fifth restaurant to open on the Maple avenue stretch. Today, there are more than 60 eating establishments along this same area with Adornetto’s being one of the original two that are still family owned and operated. Just like in 1958, Adornetto’s still carries on the long tradition of mixing pizza dough in-house and made fresh daily. Adornetto’s has been nationally recognized for being in the top 100 independently owned pizza shops in the nation out of 40,000 (Pizza Today Magazine). Adornetto’s Pizzeria has also been mentioned in great newspapers like: The New York Times, San Jose, South Carolina’s The State, and Florida’s Miami Herald. |
